George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Self-defense played a central role in Zimmerman’s not guilty plea and his defense’s argument against the second-degree murder charges, and his acquittal is drawing comparisons in the media to the verdict of another high-profile Florida shooting incident: the case of Marissa Alexander.

Marissa Alexander a black Florida woman, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2012 for shooting what she described as warning shots into a wall during a confrontation with her husband. Alexander’s lawyers claimed self-defense in the case, and said her husband had a history of abuse in their relationship. Alexanders defense invoked Florida’s “Stand Your Ground law", which gives Florida residents the right to use lethal force if they feel their life is threatened. The jury sided with prosecutors in deciding Alexander’s actions were not in self-defense.

Alexanders sentencing fell under the guidelines of what’s known in Florida as the “10-20-Life” law, which set certain mandatory minimum sentences for crimes committed with a firearm. The law enacted in 1999 requires that any crime committed with a gun earns the perpetrator a minimum ten year sentence, as the Florida Department of Corrections explains. If the firearm is discharged, the convicted will receive a 20-year minimum sentence, and if shots fired from the gun injure or kill anyone, the minimum sentence is 25-years to life.

Angela Corey, who oversaw the prosecution of George Zimmerman, also tried the case against Marissa Alexander, and defended the sentencing at the time.

When Marissa Alexander discharges a firearm in the direction of human beings, the Florida legislature says it’s dangerous,” Corey said, according to the Florida Times-Union. “And one of the reasons is because the bullet went through the wall where one of the children was standing. It happened to deflect up into the ceiling, but if it had deflected down it could have hit one of the children.”

My family and friends were subjected to the letter below after one of my e-mail addresses  was hacked, the good thing is most of my friends and family are smart people and wouldn't fall for such a cheap scam. Am sure some thought of all the probabilities and possibilities and were scared for the moment. 

The good thing am always 8-10 hours from communication with most of my friends acquaintances and others with whom I am in contact on a regular basis. The thing to be aware of is, most of us us operate on the internet daily as I do weather at home or at work and today by our cell phone and other devices. 

Do not allow Hackers to scare from getting on your computer or any of these devices that make us more accessible to our friends, our family and cause us to make that extra trip to the Bank or to a department store to pay a Bill because of these common thieves who call themselves Hackers.

The letter below does not represent how I operate as well as its fraught with  erroneous assumptions so my close friends and family took the necessary steps and were assured I was fine.

The lives of 6 adult  were snuffed out at the end of a 20 year old shooter, reports are the guns used were owned by the shooters mother, probably a lifetime member of the NRA the organisation representing that having guns no matter how many bullets they carry should be in the hands of every citizen it is our right. 

The other five adult is yet to be determined what their position on the right to bear harm stand. Mental illness is again used as an excuse for these killings, exactly where the NRA want this conversation to take place. Did I also mention 20 Babies were also killed even then only 53% of Americans support legislation to control automatic weapons while 87% support the right to bear arms!

“In his first term,” Mr. Romney said, “ we've seen the president try to browbeat the Supreme Court. In a second term, he would remake it. Our freedoms would be in the hands of an Obama court, not just for four years, but for the next 40. That must not happen.”

Mr. Romney, who was introduced by his wife, Ann, received a standing ovation after his speech, though in the cavernous downtown dome where audience members filled only the floor, not the stands, the sound was subdued.

A 5-year-old Kentucky boy was using a rifle made for children by Keystone Sporting Arms when police say shot and killed his 2 year old sister. The boy commonly used the .22-caliber "Crickett" kids rifle which he received as a gift last year, for hunting with his father.

Police say they were called to the family's home in Burkesville, Ky. after the Keystone Sporting Arms rifle went off and hit 2-year-old Caroline Sparks in the chest around 1 p.m. Tuesday, She later died at Cumberland County Hospital. no charges were yet filed, but a grand jury could have the final say. In Kentucky there are laws dealing with handguns and kids, but not for the Keystone Sporting Arms rifle used in this incident.

"Crickett" rifles are made by, Keystone Sporting Arms, are marketed as "My First Rifle" on the Pennsylvania manufacturer's website. Trooper Billy Gregory, "the gun used in the incident was kept in a corner of the house and the family did not realize that a shell had been left in it".

Investigation into the shooting is ongoing and could take weeks or even months, police say. If the reputable Keystone Sporting Arms existed before selling Guns to our children they can no longer be found on the Internet. Just like the National Rifle association went in silence after the Sandy Hook shooting Keystone Sporting Arms have removed themselves from the web and are no longer available for comment. The people who defend selling Guns and marketing kids rifle  to children criminals and may even make those weapons available to those who may harm our Nation cannot defend those 2nd amendment rights when the most vulnerable among us is armed with one of their weapons.

Our children are now expendable in the name of our 2nd amendment right, weather they are in a school in Sandy Hook, a movie Theater or a family home in Burkesville Kentucky while a mother left the area where the kids were playing to the Porch.

“On Capitol Hill, less than 55% of the United State Senators was willing to back a proposal that polls say is supported by roughly 90% of Americans,” These United State Senators have abandoned their duties as a US Senator and now behave as Local State senators of representative of special interest like the National Rifle Association.

There has never a time in recent memory that the, "will of the American people" have been brushed aside as it was in this case. For most American families a consensus is reached at 50%,where to live, where to go to college, restaurant to have dinner  and where to take a Family vacation. Beverly Champagnie was a very attractive young woman; the type to make any man turn and take a second look but after what was unveiled before Mr Justice Uriah Parnell Sr Puisne Judge and a mixed jury in the Home Circuit Court Division of the Gun Court in 1979, after her conviction for accessory to murder, I overheard a member of the jury describe her as "a she-devil, seemingly coming out of the pits of hell, disguised as Snow White, and bringing with her all the venom to wipe out an entire nation".

In Aurora, Colo., a high-capacity magazine made it possible for the gunman to shoot 70 people, killing 12, in only a few minutes. His 100-round drums jammed. Imagine how many more lives would have been lost had the drum not jammed.

The National rifle association contend high capacity magazines are not an issue , The  high capacity  magazine  pictured  here would allow a perpetrator in a Movie Theater , School or Shopping Mall to disperse 60 rounds or more in less than 30 seconds. If a criminal , someone suffering from a mental unstable condition  or just someone who mindlessly want to do harm has access to magazines with say ten rounds, how much less harm would he be able to do?.

The traditional Christmas is celebrated in most Countries  the Christmas music is sun in different languages. the most traditional element gifts, sadly so many especially children are unable to share the bounties of this Earth for reasons we refuse to talk about or take action making a difference.

Last week Friday at 9:30 am while some parents may have been out shopping for gifts for their 6 & 7 year old children in Sandy Hook Connecticut a Gunman armed with automatic weapons took the lives of 20 Babies and 6 adults in a school understood before today to be the safest place from home.

Malala Yousafzai 14 Year old Girl Shot by Taliban

Malala Yousafzai dreamed of becoming a doctor, but recently she became interested in politics and speaking out for the rights of children. She was on a school bus with her classmates when gunman stopped the bus, asked for her, and shot Malala her twice, in the head and neck, leaving her seriously wounded in Pakistan.

I am a voter who always want to be well informed, I cannot avoid the Election ads on my Television in Long Island. I did not know much about Randy Altschuler so I did some research through Google and went to Wikipedia. I am now well informed about Randy Altschuler and extremely respectful of his achievements but Randy could not get my vote first as a Long Islander and then an American.

Deafening Silence!

A young man armed with an Assault weapon with a Magazine capable of carrying 42  Rounds of Ammunition walked business like into a Crowded Cinema in Aurora, Colorado released what is thought to be some kind of Chemical then raised his weapon and started wantonly shooting innocent citizens. Since the barrage of Gun fire stopped there has been, silence! a unbearable silence by the National Political Leaders in our Country and the National Rifle Association defender of Gun rights. The Lone recognizable voice to raise the Question of Gun Control is the Mayor of New York City, His Honor Mr Bloomberg,  Mayor Bloomberg's call for engaging the Country in a conversation is not new, but the mayor is no longer running for Public Office.

The organisation responsible for the shooting, the National Rifle Association has declined Public comment on the brutal slaughter of 12 innocent Citizens and various degrees of  injury to 59 other people. The injury is not only those physically inflicted by this 24 year old young man, the injury to the relatives including mothers and fathers, wives and girlfriends, sons and daughters, the immediate Aurora community and the further stain on this Nations  recklessness with guns. It  is evident that this has further imprisoned the citizens of this country not knowing, where and when it is safe for a family to spend an evening free of fear.

The National Rifle Association by its silence is admitting its Policy to put the false need for assault weapons as recreational firearm has caused serious harm to the Physic of this Nation. If the National Rifle Association thought Assault weapons in the hands of Citizens was a necessity for recreation they would be making Public statements condemning the use of Assault weapons in the Colorado Shooting. But their silence speaks Volume!

"The National Rifle Association cannot defend a AR7 Rifle as a recreation Firearm. The Leadership of the National Rifle Association is embarrassed by the most recent Colorado Massacre and in keeping with the 65% of Americans, must release your Republican congressional Captives to renew the Assault weapons Ban and support commonsense Firearm Legislation".

President Obama flew to Colorado to be with some victims of this horrific crime and their families, the minimum a President could do under the circumstances, granted the President is also running for  re-election. This President has not shown the kind of Leadership expected on the matter of Gun Control even after the Gabby Gifford shooting. Mitt Romney who singed into Law an Assault Weapons ban while Governor of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts walked back his unyielding support for this courageous Law now that he is running for President as the Republican candidate.

The NRA will continue its happy dance avoiding questions until Americans forget this horrific crime committed at the hand of someone who purchased Firearm and Ammunition's without a trace.

Patrice Wymore Flynn was born in Miltonvale, Kansas, and at the age of six she began touring with her family, who were vaudeville performers. By the time she reached adulthood, she was pretty and had a good singing voice. She auditioned in New York City for a part in Up in Central Park, in which she performed in 1947. She then performed in the Broadway musical Hold It!, for which she won a Theater World Award for "Promising Actress". Following her performance in All for Love in 1949, she was contacted by Warner Bros., and she moved to Hollywood.

Patrice Wymore's first film appearance was in the 1950 film Tea for Two, starring Doris Day and Gordon Mac Rae. That same year she starred in Rocky Mountain opposite Hollywood legend Errol Flynn, with whom she would become romantically involved. The two married in October 1950. They moved to Jamaica, and had a daughter, Arnella Flynn, born in 1953. Their daughter would later become a fashion model in Europe. Arnella Flynn died in the Errol Flynn Mansion at Castle Comfort under suspicious circumstances. There was never a Public declaration as to her cause of death, it is alleged Arnella Flynn was seen that afternoon prior to her death in good health friends report, she was reluctant to attend dinner with her mother and friends that night. It is Publicly known Arnella Flynn has always had a difficult relationship with her Mother and would often refuse to appear with her at Public events.

In 1953, she appeared alongside Virginia Mayo in She's Back on Broadway, and that same year she starred opposite Randolph Scott in The Man Behind the Gun. In 1955 she appeared with her husband Errol Flynn and Anna Neagle in the film version of King's Rhapsody. Flynn was already in a physical and mental decline by the time they had married.

Following King's Rhapsody, Wymore took a break from acting to care for her now ailing husband, and to better raise their daughter. However, due to Flynn's alcohol and drug addictions, the couple separated. They never divorced, however, and were still married at the time of his death in October 1959.

Following Flynn's death, Wymore returned to acting, mostly in stock musicals. She appeared in the musicals Carnival!, Guys and Dolls, Irma La Douche, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes during this period. She had a minor role in the original Ocean's Eleven in 1960. In 1965, she was cast in the short-lived soap opera Never Too Young, and in 1966 she appeared in the film Chamber of Horrors. Her last appearance was on the television series F Troop in 1967.

Flynn had left her a 2,000-acre property (8.1 km²) coconut plantation in Castle Comfort Priestman's River Portland Jamaica, as well as a mansion and a cattle ranch. After her retirement she returned to Jamaica, where she opened a boutique and wicker furniture manufacturing business. She continues to be active on Errol Flynn's estate at Castle Comfort, and often appears at dedications in his honor.

These are a few way to help:-
1) Look around your yard the areas you don't often occupy to find containers that may have collected water during the rainy weather.
2) Flower Pots are friendly environment for mosquitoes, check and make sure all your Flower Pots and bases are draining properly. With the amount of rain we had recently the dirt in these pots gets hard and water may be retained in them.
3) Check the gutters around your home clean them of all the leaves and gunk these can help to retain water and become breeding ground for mosquitoes.
4) Make sure you cut the shrubs around around your home and clear them of clutter mosquitoes and flies find these as friendly areas to survive as the remain cool and accommodating to mosquito insects and flies.
