| Rain Forest cover the Beach |
Not many beaches in the world is shaded by lush vegetation as Winnifred's beach near the Blue Lagoon and only 7 miles from Port Antonio. The lush Tropical vegetation allow visitors to the beach deem Winnifred's beach as the worlds foremost beach with a tropical rain Forest. The trees on the beach are grown to 30-40 feet high with lush brilliant green leaves and no sign of withering. Winnifreds beach does not welcome beach umbrella's because the branches of the trees reaches over the beaches incoming tide at its eastern and western ends. Along the beach several large trees are so close to the water providing shade and sometimes when the tide rise or there is rough seas the trees are covered halfway up their trunk.

Ocho Rios-Jamaica Beach and Waterfalls
![]() |
| Ocho Rios, Dunns River Falls |
Ocho Rios (Spanish for "Eight Rivers") is a town in the parish of Saint Ann on the north coast of Jamaica. Although he landed in many spots along the Jamaican coast, many believe that Christopher Columbus first set foot on land in Ocho Rios. Just outside the city, travelers and residents can visit Columbus Park, where Columbus supposedly first came on land, and see maritime artifacts and Spanish colonial buildings.
Once a fishing village Ocho Rios now well known as the second of Jamaica's tourism communities. It is a port of call for cruise ships hosting several of Carnival Cruise lines and other cruises weekly as well as cargo ships loading sugar, limestone, and in the past, bauxite.
The name "Ocho Rios" is a misnomer because there are not eight rivers in the area. It is most likely a British corruption of the original Spanish name "Las Chorreras" ("the waterfalls"), a name given to the village because of the nearby Dunn's River Falls.
The north coast highway from the international airport at Montego Bay to Ocho Rios has been improved since 2000 and the journey is now an hour and forty five minutes drive. On 26 August 2011, Jamaicas government announced a $21 million revitalization plan for the resort area.
The town has restaurants, night clubs in Margaritaville and Dolphin Cove, where tourists swim and interact with dolphins. Scuba diving and other water sports are offered in the town's vicinity.

Historically, the origins were in military use for dispatch riders, where soft, often canvas-type woven material bags were fitted to the motorcycle by rudimentary frames enabling the rider to carry documents securely. After hostilities ended, any left-over items including the motorcycles could be obtained from army-surplus depots, particularly after World War II during the 1950's when there was an increase in motorcycle use as a cheap form of transport
Saddle bags also are available as modern motorcycle accessories (similar to western saddlebags described above) to place across the rear portion of the motorcycle seat, making them quickly detachable. They can then be carried over the arm or shoulder of the rider.
Made of leather or vinyl (leather cloth or imitation leather) with stiffening, they are known as Throw-overs and come in different shapes and sizes to be used as travel luggage or a handy temporary container for items such as shopping.

Garden 2012, Hornworm
Garden 2012, Horn-worm
07/17/2012 found these Caterpillars (Horn-worm) feeding on my Tomato Plant
Horn-worms:
These caterpillars are so big (three inches long or more) that it would seem to be easy to control them just by picking them off. And so it is, sometimes. The problem is that their pale green color provides excellent camouflage, and the nymph and larval stages are far smaller and less obvious. If there are only a few, picking them off works well. (One site suggests spraying the plant with water, causing the caterpillars to, and I quote, "thrash around," giving themselves away.) If there are more than a few, other measures may be called for. One of these is Bt, Bacillus thuringiensis, an organic treatment that can control numerous other problems as well.

Through the tunnel of Love

| Tunnel of Love |
Tunnel of Love, "Passing through is the memory of a lifetime".
Rafting in Jamaica like so much else, is largely chill. You are taken on a trip of a lifetime serenely downstream on the same kind of 30-foot-long, bamboo-lashed rafts that Farmers once used for transporting their sugarcane and bananas to market. This ride enchanting gives you a chance to loose your mind in the vegetation that surrounds and wonders that surrounds you.
The Beautiful Tropical Bamboo Palms bunched as they Grow to 40 ft- 60 ft and clustered on the side of the mountain. The Sky that always seem to be blue with the yellow sun piercing at your body baking it to a golden tan. With birdlike whisper the water rippling over the uneven smothered riverbed rocks. The experience does not lend itself to verbal conversation but an imagination a selfish ride through another of natures true experience.

Beautiful rocks carved by the ferocious river into monuments that changes over time. There's the," lovers rock", once a huge solid Rock over time Hew through by the ferocity of the Rio Grande River now called the Tunnel of Love the story told by your Raft Captain who remain silent throughout trip only to answer questions or point out wonders you may may have missed, "Passing through this Tunnel is the memory of a lifetime". The Rio Grande River Experience is like none other of the four River rafting trips you can take in Jamaica.
This Rio Grande River ride should not end without a break at the midpoint to enjoy a swim in this Natural tropical water pouring from the Blue mountains of Jamaica twirling its way through the John Crow Mountains into the Rio Grande Valley and finally into this awesome lifetime experience. What feels like cold water as you enter will embrace and clench your body into a romantic fervor, relaxing and refreshing. After a 30 minute swim and frolic, your body would have absorbed natural minerals that makes the skin like velvet.

Summer of Mosquitoes

Mosquito Repellent Coils
|
This has been a spring of enormous rain there are Floods everywhere so late spring and early summer will bring an outbreak of flies and Mosquitoes. We can help to reduce the levels of this Mosquito outbreak by doing simple things around our homes.
1) Look around your yard the areas you don't often occupy to find containers that may have collected water during the rainy weather.
2) Flower Pots are friendly environment for mosquitoes, check and make sure all your Flower Pots and bases are draining properly. With the amount of rain we had recently the dirt in these pots gets hard and water may be retained in them.
3) Check the gutters around your home clean them of all the leaves and gunk these can help to retain water and become breeding ground for mosquitoes.
4) Make sure you cut

My Wife the Teacher
The 'Middle Wife' by an Anonymous 2nd grade teacher
I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself, but
the best birth story I know is the
one I saw in my own second grade classroom a few years back.
When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few sessions
with my students. It helps them get
over shyness and usually,
show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model airplanes,
pictures of fish they catch, stuff
like that. And I never, ever place any boundaries or limitations on them.
If they want to lug it in to school
and talk about it, they're welcome.
Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid,
takes her turn and waddles up to the
front of the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater.
She holds up a snapshot of an infant. 'This is Luke, my baby brother, and
I'm going to tell you about his
birthday.'
'First, Mom and Dad made him as a symbol of their love, and then Dad put
a seed in my Mom's stomach, and
Luke grew in there. He ate for nine months through an umbrella cord.'
She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I'm trying not to
laugh and wishing I had my camcorder
with me. The kids are watching her in amazement.
'Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mom starts saying and going, 'Oh, Oh,
Oh, Oh!' Erica puts a hand behind
her back and groans. 'She walked around the house for, like an hour, 'Oh,
oh, oh!' (Now this kid is doing a
hysterical duck walk and groaning.)
' My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn't have
a sign on the car like the
Domino's man. They got my Mom to lie down in bed like this.' (Then Erica
lies down with her back against the
wall.)
'And then, pop! My Mom had this bag of water she kept in there in case
he got thirsty, and it just blew up
and spilled all over the bed, like psshhheew!' (This kid has her legs
spread with her little hands mimicking
water flowing away. It was too much!)
'Then the middle wife starts saying 'push, push,' and 'breathe, breathe.
They started counting, but never even got past ten. Then, all of a sudden,
out comes my brother. He was
covered in yucky stuff that they all said it was from Mom's play-center,
(placenta) so there must be a lot
of toys inside there. When he got out, the middle wife spanked him for
crawling up in there.'
Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her seat.
I'm sure I applauded the loudest. Ever since then, when it's show-and-tell
day, I bring my camcorder, just in
case another ' Middle Wife' comes along.
Now you have two choices....laugh and close this page or pass this along
to someone else to spread the
laughs. I know what I did!!!
Live every day as if it is your LAST chance to make someone happy!!!!

Smile in the Morning.
| She Laid as if Lifeless |
She handed me my lunch case with her left hand and placed her right and on top of mine, the touch was soft and deep. I kissed her,as I walked to the door her footsteps were soft and loud behind me, I was smiling deep inside me. I opened the door I knew she was right there. I stepped outside holding the door ajar. Again I felt her soft fingers taking the place of mine as I gently let the door leave my hand into hers.
As I walked to my car I felt her piercing eyes across my shoulders, my fingers trembled as I opened the door. Through the corners of my eye, I saw her standing there her body pressed against the edge her hands one above the other between her chest, her face touching the doors edge.
My nerves were shattered, my right leg trembled as as it touched the floor, hurriedly my body fell into the seat my left leg was lifeless as I dragged it inside the car. my car did not start as my wet fingers slipped from the keys. My head drooped my forehead slightly touching the steering wheel. wiping my hand on my leg I tried again the car roared and started, I rolled my window down waving as I backed out the driveway.
I did not look to see if she was there I knew she was, this morning was different I felt her there. I muttered to myself, "I know why she she do this",that moment I had a long breath taking morning smile.
