Republican war on Women, Uncle Sugar

Republicans have grave difficulty speaking about women issues from Rape, abortion, birth control the woman's role in the society and now Gov. Mike Huckabee discussing the woman's Libido. The fact is when Republicans discuss these issues concerning women it is done by men who do not know or  have not in the past shown sensitivity to the women's need and have blocked the growing influence of women in our society.

Gov. Mike Huckabee

Democrats, Mike Huckabee said, see women as “helpless and hopeless creatures whose only goal in life is to have a government provide for them birth control medication" because they "cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government."

“It’s time for Republicans to no longer accept listening to Democrats talk about a war on women," Mike Huckabee continued, "Because the fact is, the Republicans don’t have a war on women. They have a war for women. For them to be empowered; to be something other than victims of their gender.

"Women I know are outraged that Democrats think that women are nothing more than helpless and hopeless creatures whose only goal in life is to have a government provide for them birth control medication," he continued. "Women I know are smart, educated, intelligent, capable of doing anything anyone else can do. Our party stands for the recognition of the equality of women and the capacity of women. That’s not a war on them, it’s a war for them.

Nine years ago, as Governor Mike Huckabee thought that the government should ensure that everyone had access to contraception.

"And if the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it," he said. "Let’s take that discussion all across America because women are far more than Democrats have made them to be. And women across America have to stand up and say, 'Enough of that nonsense.'”

Note
In 2005, Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee signed a law mandating Arkansas insurance plans provide contraception coverage, including church-affiliated organizations such as hospitals and universities.

Arnella Flynn in Jamaica

Errol Flynn Great House Castle Comfort

Willard Hearne, a long time friend and sometime lover, couldn't believe his luck when Arnella fell for him. A former supermodel and heir to one of the biggest properties on the island of Jamaica, she was infatuated with the 56-year-old Rastafarian with matted dreadlocks and jaundiced eyes from years of smoking.

“Arnella Flynn was a very sweet girl, but she had a lot of problems,” Willard said, sitting on the deck of his jungle shack. “It is a shame she and her mother couldn't get along. Just days before Arnella died she got a letter from her mother’s attorney telling her she had to leave the Errol Flynn Estate, she was being kicked out. She told me she was sad because she had nowhere to go. Then three days later she was dead. I’ll miss her.”

Patrice Wymore Flynn had often tried to rein her in. She would cut off her finances in the hopes that she wouldn't be able to afford the one-pound-a-line of cocaine from the local dealers. But Arnella turned to selling her homegrown carrots and tomatoes on roadside stalls to tourists for cash. When that ran out, she took to stealing coconuts from her mother’s farm at Castle Comfort. For Arnella, told when she was a kid she would never want for anything, money still grew on trees. She was banished from the main house to a smaller, tatty house elsewhere on the estate.

Expressed Anticipation

Expressed Anticipation

Since I left  in 2011 and our attraction was confirmed and conversations began, I knew I wanted to be with you and I hope even more the feelings were mutual, so many things happened in the past year and a half that made difficult for me to return as we both wanted the anxiety and anticipation was sometimes too much to control. I truly believe some things are out of our control and better left to destiny, maybe not being able to come back as I wanted was one of them, time has always taught us it is the master and whatever the expressed anticipation physically mentally or emotionally only time will heal those feelings. Time is not always ours, the right time is not always for us to determine, if what we think and feel is right for us nothing can take our happiness away. When the day came and were were together it was what I imagined and more, more than I dream't of, its reality was more than expected time did not matter anymore. Because this seem so right my promise is, I will always be with you as you are with me through thick and thin for better stronger lives.

I know I love you and that's what matter most!

Mrs Ann Romney never walked in the ordinary American shoe.

Life Choices
When Mrs Ann Romney decided to become a stay at home Mom, that's the choice she made hopefully with the blessings of her husband Mitt Romney. Most women does not get the opportunity to make those choices in life as  Ann Romney do. She married the love of her life who was potentially rich even if he had inherited his Fathers fortune. Most ordinary American women does not drive a few Cadillac's have houses in various States with elevator Garages or off shore  bank accounts in France and the Cayman Islands. Mrs Ann Romney has never walked in the ordinary American Mothers Shoe.

Mitt Romney claim he did not inherit any of his Fathers wealth, neither did Mr Mitt Romney Graduate from college with not $20. $30. $40 thousand dollars in college Loans. From his speeches along the Primary Election trail I understand Mitt Romney is no ordinary American citizen, Romney was born in Wealth was enabled the best Education while living in luxury. There was no question Ann Romney would not have to work even at the outset of their lives. Through hard work, his good education, and more good luck than bad, Mitt Romney was able to create wealth that Ann Romney would not have to work for a living for the rest of her life Ann Romney knew this when she made her wedding vow.

I do not think most Americans begrudge Mitt and Ann Romney's great success, an almost perfect well balanced family. The Romney's Children inheriting $100 Million dollars from their Father that  the Romney Boys did not even have to pay transfer Taxes on and the interest on any investment is Carried so these gifts From their Father Mitt Romney may never attract Taxes.

The other 99% of Americans does not enjoy the benefits of the 1% like Mitt and Ann Romney and their sons. For the rest of the 99% we are not able to gift our children or Grand Children upward of $10 thousand dollars without attracting taxes and penalties even if we were helping our children to purchase a home or helping them in college.

Choices make us

The conversation is not weather Ann Romney made the choice to be a stay at home Mother! that choice is, does Ann Romney through her various difficult illnesses, affording the best medical care, did not have to feel pain if she didn't want, can she understand the life of  the ordinary woman. Mrs Romney did not have to count the days to end maternity leave or return to work  before she was well enough after each child because her Job did not give Maternity leave to keeping food on her family's table those are real choices! Choosing to become a stay at home Parent is Luxury any woman or recently man choose to stay at home and rear their Kids and wait on their spouses reality 99% of us cannot afforestation those Luxuries and it is Luxury.

It is Mrs Romney's right to speak about her husbands character but while doing so she must also imagine what life is like for those women without planned Parenthood, those women who still want to enjoy the pleasures of sex and love making but cannot afford contraception life's necessities her husband Mitt Romney Says he would deny women who need them or Mitt Romney's support for all the Vaginal Probe Bills . Mrs Ann Romney would not understand the plight of those women who does not have a few Cadillac's but have to take the bus to the Train layered in clothing winter to get to work, or maybe she does, her Maids may have had to take the Bus at some point or her Maid's drive Cadillac's too.
Ann Romney was not an ordinary stay at home Mom she married into a lifestyle one that she has lived for all those years to tell us that's a choice is so Phony. Ann Romney married into the life she knew exactly what it would be like, to tell the American people otherwise is dis-ingenious.

"Bob's whole life is about Africa, it is not about Jamaica." Rita Marley

Bob Marley Legalize it
Rita Marley planned to have the body of her late husband, Bob Marley, exhumed and buried in Ethiopia, his "spiritual resting place" in 2005. She wanted it to be a month long celebration of what would be his 60th birthday. The area in which she wanted to bury him was a Rastafarian community that was given land by the country's last emperor, Haile Selassie. She claimed to have the backing of the Ethiopian government and said "We are working on bringing his remains to Ethiopia. It is part of Bob's own mission. Bob's whole life is about Africa, it is not about Jamaica. How can you give up a continent for an island? He has a right for his remains to be where he would love them to be. This was his mission. Ethiopia is his spiritual resting place. With the 60th anniversary this year, the impact is there and the time is right.

The remains of Bob Marley being repatriated to Ethiopia underscores the thinking of those who would have given this idea the slightest thought. Bob Marley is by far the most noble and recognized symbol in modern Jamaican History by far. There is nothing that the world recognizes Jamaica with as the Music with of Bob Marley.

The Legacy of Bob Marley should be developed to Become the National Symbol he is, sites of his early upbringing Trench Town, The Studio where he recorded his first song, the Trench Town Play field where he played Football should becomee the Bob Marley walk to fame. The current Museum at 56 Old hope Road in Kingston is too Small, the Building should Be replicated and relocated at his Burial site where there is adequate land for expansion.

Edna Manley Jamaican Heritage

Biography

Bamboo Rafts along Rio grande

Born in Yorkshire England, Edna Manley's mother was Jamaican, from the prominent Shearer family. In 1936 she met her cousin Norman Manley who had come to England as a Rhodes scholar to study at Oxford. He was later conscripted and fought in (WW1) World War 1, while Edna studied at St Martin's School of Art. They married in 1922 and moved to Jamaica where Edna was to pursue her career as a sculptor creating images that reflected Jamaica's struggle for nationhood. During the 1930's Edna Manley continued to exhibit in London but increasingly her focus was Jamaica where she exhibited and supported the development of the arts.

Edna Manley's Negro Aroused (1935) aptly reflects her stylistic and social interests during that era. Hewn intentionally from dark mahogany, its naked black torso supports a head thrust upwards in search of a new dawn. Stylistically, Negro Aroused' is linked to William B lake's romantic imagery of a renovated or resurrected man (Boxer, 1990), but conceptually it wrestles with edenic and primordial thinking closer to the primitives Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. Yet, in spite of its idealism, Negro Aroused is a constrained and even pained figure. Even without chains, its movement is frustrated by its rooted akimbo posture, suggesting that the black man's future is not born out of freedom but an irrevocable recognition of place. Norman Manley considering how the black man might triumph over this adversity wrote,

There is a tremendous difference between living in a place and belonging to it and feeling that your own life and destiny is irrevocably bound up in the life and destiny of that place. It is that spirit which is the most hopeful thing in Jamaica today. It is that spirit which alone encourages the development of our national consciousness...

Sculptures such as Negro Aroused (1936) became icons for this era and much of the work that she created in the run up to Jamaica's independence such as Into the Sun (1954), Growth (1958) and I Saw My Land (1960) featuring the same heroic black figure, bear this weight of representing the nation's vision.

Edna Manley
Her message promoted black self-dignity, but never at the expense of personal and autobiographical details. The Moses images from the 1950's suggest how her personal and public life were entwined once her husband Norman Manley became Jamaica's Chief Minister. Edna Manley's images of the prophet Moses bear strong resemblance to her husband Norman, while the narrative imagery of works like I Saw My Land (1960) boldly signal his role as deliverer of the nation. The designation 'Moses' was an appropriate one in a society that saw itself as being freed from bondage and colonialism and set on a path for Independence. As part of her efforts to support the national development Edna taught art classes and helped to establish the Jamaica School of Art and Crafts (1950) through which she influenced later generations of artists. Her husband became Chief Minister of Jamaica in 1954 and although he lost the national elections in 1961, he was instrumental in leading Jamaica to Independence in 1962. Norman Manley died in 1969, but was succeeded by their son Michael who became Prime Minister in 1972. Edna continued to play an active role in cultural development as a founder member of the National Gallery of Jamaica and as one of the countries foremost artists winning numerous awards and national commissions and sculpting an enormous body of work, right up until her death at age 86.
